Which size hat do I have?
Deciding which size hat you have is simple, but has to be done precise. On this page we give you instructions on how you can measure your head in the best way. Use a cloth measure for this and always measure in centimeters. We advice you to get some assistance if possible, so you will be as accurate as possible.
How you measure is dependent on the style you wear your hat. This can be done in the traditional way, but also as a halo. Pick the style that suits you and how you will wear your hat.
Traditional
- Get the cloth measure and place the end on the occipital bone (the furthest bone on the back of your head).
- Bring the cloth measure around your head, about 5 mm above the ears and over the center of your forehead, or just above the eyebrows (dependent on how you want the hat to fit).
- Make sure the cloth measure isn’t too loose or too tight, and read the size.
- The amount of centimeters is the right size for your hat. If you are in between sizes we recommend you choose the bigger size.
Halo
- Get the cloth measure and place the end on the occipital bone (the furthest bone on the back of your head).
- Bring the cloth measure around your head, about 5 mm above the ears and over the top of your forehead (the beginning of the hairline).
- Make sure the cloth measure isn’t too loose or too tight, and read the size.
- The amount of centimeters is the right size for your hat. If you are in between sizes we recommend you choose the bigger size.
A hat is very personal
There is no such thing as a common perfect size. A hat is very personal and should fit the way you want it. A tighter fit is usually better for active people as it stays on better, think of a day at the beach or a festival for example. The hat will also be higher on your head in this case. A looser fit is more comfortable for wearing over a longer period of time (4 hours+) and will be lower on the head.
